Aim of lecture
Students should learn about problems encountered by archives in European societies and their roots and historical developments
Students should know typical problems encountered by European archives and their historical roots.
ヨーロッパ社会のアーカイブズが直面している問題とその根源、ならびに歴史的展開について学ぶ。ヨーロッパのアーカイブズが抱える典型的問題とその歴史的背景を理解することを目的とする。
Details / Schedule of the lecture
The following subjects will be treated:
- Archives and society: publicly debated relevance of archives for history and common as well as individual memory
- Archival sciences: main questions − terminology- organization ofresearch - collaboration with records creators - digital preservationand longevity
- Archival working methods: description − appraisal − providing access − preservation
- Training: subjects − organizational forms − continued training
- Archives organization: institutions - competencies − workflows
- Archives and the internet: gateways − international standards - digitization
以下の諸問題を扱う。
- アーカイブズと社会―広く議論を呼んでいる、アーカイブズが歴史や民衆や個人記憶において持つ意味について
- アーカイブズ学―中心課題、用語、研究組織、記録作成者との協力、デジタル保存と永続性
- アーカイブズの実務手法―記述、評価、利用公開、保存
- トレーニング―科目、組織形態、継続研修
- アーカイブズの組織―機関のあり方、資格条件、業務の流れ
- アーカイブズとインターネット―ゲートウエイ、国際標準、デジタル化
How to judge a grade
Short essay to be delivered 2 weeks after the last session.
The subject should be defined during the lessons.
講義終了後２週間以内に小論文を提出する。テーマは授業において指示する。
Advice for this lecture
It would be useful to have a look around internet presentations of archives in Europe and in the US and to find out, how they present their finding aids on the one hand and their institutions on the other.
I will prepare some slide shows and mind maps for the different topics.
インターネットでヨーロッパと米国のアーカイブズのサイト＊をいくつか訪れ、所蔵史料の検索手段をどのように提供しているか、機関紹介をどのように行っているかを見るのが有益である。その他、種々のトピックについてスライド・ショーとマインド・マップを準備する予定である。
